My Umbrella Day(FREE Printable Book)

Post image for My Umbrella Day(FREE Printable Book)

Last Saturday it was raining.  So rather than packing the kids up and heading out into the world, we grabbed a cup of coffee and sat under our back porch and watched it rain. Well, it didn’t take long before the kids took themselves out into the world (our backyard) and made a morning of fun playing in the rain. MacGyver found an old umbrella (and I found my camera and MANY candid shots). And well this is some of what happened . . . (Look for the FREE printable book link at the end of the story).

None of these pictures were “staged”. It was such a relaxing and lovely time sitting back and watching our children enjoy a day full of “nothing” but our backyard. (Yes, I did spare you the other 50 or so pictures I took! Let me know if you’re dying to see them!)

Some weekends Madelyn does not want me to put her down. She wants to cuddle in the recliner all day and read books. Laundry does not get done, the dishwasher stays loaded and I do not get my errands run, but it is such a special time for us. Since I work we do not spend as much time together as I would like and I realize some days we just need cuddle time.

I love Soccer Saturdays. My husband takes the ENTIRE day off and we spend it doing a whole lot of nothing. We take Mason to his soccer game then hit Target to look at toys and what not. My husband always works so it is nice to have that one day a week.

You’re right, it’s easy to get lost in the laundry when you’re a Mommy. But the cuddles are so much more important than dirty clothes and dishes. :)

That looks like so much fun. You can’t even tell it’s raining in the photos. Stunning. Thank you for sharing.

What fantastic fun and great photos and how clever you are to put them into a booklet :)

Your link worked perfectly and I am so glad you are playing along.

Today was a rainy day for us. It was great. We have not had rain in 2 months! Alexander made the most of it. He loves any opportunity to wear his rain coat and rain boots. He splashed and when the rain stopped we turned on the water hose. Water one of the greatest toys ever invented.

Oh Nora I feel feel for you! I don’t have any solutions – I haven’t seen my wee mouse for a few days and am &#;g&68hopin21#8217; he’s gone away, but probably in denial like you say, because they don’t leave by themselves. Have you tried the humane traps? That’s what I’m going to have to fall back on.
