Look close, look close what do you see?
I see one big bunny eye looking at me.
Look close, look close what do you see?
I see one soft bunny ear listening to me.
Look close, look close what do you see.
I see a bunny with spots hiding from me.
Look close, look close what do you see?
One day while we were out watering our plants, MacGyver came racing from around the corner yelling, “Mommy, Mommy there’s a little bunny in our yard.” He runs back around the corner for another look then comes back yelling, “It’s a baby deer! It’s a baby deer!”
Yep, the little brown bunny with the white spots was a tiny little fawn. When we moved into our home a friend came to visit from out of town. While we were in our backyard she suddenly exclaimed, “Your neighbor has a pet deer?!” I explained that no, the deer live in our neighborhood and come and go as they please. But she looked puzzled and the questions continued . . .
But where do they live?
They live in our yards.
No, but where do they LIVE? Where do they sleep and stuff? Where do they actually live?
They eat, sleep, mate (yes, mate!) and have their babies in our yards. Herds of deer live in our yards.
It’s that time of year again. Every June the new baby deer arrive. What an adventure and talk about finding treasures right in your own backyard! Some of Miss Enigma’s first words were, “Baby deer! Baby deer!”
Hope you find a little adventure this summer right in your own backyard!

We’re giving away a little adventure in our “at school section”: Zigby Hunts for Treasure
UPDATE!!! WE JUST FOUND ANOTHER BABY DEER IN THE YARD! MacGyver has been observing the new baby throughout the day and taking pictures. He is very proud of the photo above because he caught the baby cleaning itself. He also observed the Mommy feeding the baby but didn’t have the camera ready. Life is full of adventure and wonderful moments!

So sweet!! We also have herds of deer who live in our neighborhood and we are anxiously awaiting being able to spot the tiny babies, I figure they should be arriving any time now!
