When we go to our local Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, the children beg for two things, fruit popsicles and GREEN pasta.
Yes, GREEN pasta.
The Children constantly request the healthy pasta’s made locally by Gourmet Texas Pasta. We’ve tried most of their flavors, from Artichoke Heart to Szechuan Orange Spice. They make almost 20 delicious flavor combinations. But the children’s favorite is by far the Spinach, Basil & Garlic Linguine. Better known as “The GREEN Pasta.”
This healthy GREEN pasta makes my children say strange things like,
“Please can we have the GREEN pasta for lunch?!”
“What are we having for dinner, GREEN pasta?!”
“Oh thank you Mommy, I Loooooove the GREEN pasta!”
“Mommy, you are the best cook ever! I Loooooove GREEN pasta”
While at the Farmers’ Market, I also make sure that I grab a fresh bottle of locally grown and bottled olive oil from Texas Olive Ranch. If you’ve never had freshly bottled olive oil, you don’t know what you’re missing. (I didn’t!) This olive oil is clear and the most lovely shade of green. And of course it is delicious, delicious, delicious!!! Texas Olive Ranch also makes flavored olive oils and flavored balsamic vinegars. How about a little crusty bread and dipping sauce. My tongue is tingling! Am I using too many exclamation points? Sorry, I loooooove food. No, you don’t understand. I really looooove food!
The healthy GREEN pasta from Gourmet Texas Pasta only takes 6 minutes to cook and dinner is served. The ingredients do not include salt, so I salt the boiling water before adding the pasta.
A little drizzle of olive oil, a pat of butter, a light sprinkle of parmesan cheese and a sprig of parsley for presentation (just joking).
This healthy GREEN pasta cost more than a cheep box of mac & cheese, but the ingredients are as follows: whole durum wheat, spinach, basil and freshly ground black pepper. That’s all! Never added colorants or powdered veggies. Additionally, one package of this pasta feeds our family of four. A cheep box of mac & cheese can’t do that!
Of course, these yummy pastas can be dressed-up with grilled chicken, fresh veggies or, my favorite, red pepper flakes. During our trip to the beach last fall, I added fresh gulf shrimp and the Myer Lemon Olive Oil from Texas Olive Ranch to the Artichoke Heart Pasta. Can you say, fabulously delicious?
Both Gourmet Texas Pasta & Texas Olive Ranch ship, so look them up and buy some GREEN pasta for your children! This is not a paid endorsement, but it is endorsed by my children!
*One thing you should all know: My children are picky eaters!

I make a lot of our pasta. I should try putting spinach, basil, and garlic in it I guess!
Wow you actually make pasta. I’ve never gotten that brave. It looks like a lot of work!
green pasta is awesome! I don’t even know what kind I had as a kid but one of my favorite meals was green pasta with ham, a cheesy kind of sauce and black olives I think! I loved it because of the green pasta! Such a great way to get kids to try new things!
OK, so I know you posted this forever ago. We just tried these and they are amazing. Lucky for us this company sells their pasta at the little grocery store in our town and right now it is on sale! We added nothing but butter, salt and parmesan.
