Book of the Week GIVEAWAY: Sticker Dolly Dressing Around the World by Emily Bone (Author), Vicker Arrowsmith (Illustrator)

Why we love this Book:

It’s Christmas the season of giving. Books under the Christmas tree are a must! This Usborne Activity book is a fun twist on the children’s literature we typically GIVE AWAY each week. Around the World activity sticker book is worthy of being wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree, guaranteed to provide hours of engaged learning.

Rather than commercial characters, the book features people (both male and female) from around the world introducing children to countries off the beaten path like Peru, Nigeria, Austria and even Cambodia. Country by country, children are invited to dress the characters in traditional clothing, learning the names of the costumes and the cultural importance. This is a fun way to introduce different cultures, geography and mapping skills. A world map is included in the back of the book which teaches the location of each country.

The sticker clothing is detailed, colorful and beautiful. It may be a bit delicate for younger children and might require just a little help. The book does include boys making it an option for boys as well; however . . .

If you know a boy that loves trucks, airplanes or soldiers there are also books for them.

Traveling this Christmas? These Usborne Activity Sticker books provide hours of quiet, engaging fun in the car, on the airplane, at Grandma’s house, in the hotel room . . .

I would love to win! I have to say our first stop would be Ireland; we have always wanted to go!

The first countries would be the countries where we have family members. That would be Germany, Belarus, Russia, Poland, Israel, and Australia :)

If I could travel around the world, I think I’d definitely put France on the list. I’ve been there before, but there are regions of France that really intrigue me, where I’ve never been. Also, I’d definitely make a stop in West Africa, but I’m not sure which country or countries. I’ve heard a lot of good things about visiting Ghana.

So many places and people, so little time! I would definitely pack up my family and head to Cambodia. I dream of them meeting the children we sponsor and the teachers I work with in Cambodia. It makes me smile just dreaming about it!
