Back in October, Miss Enigma suffered a scary playground fall and concussion. The recovery was a bit slow and tedious. In an attempt to get her out of her concussion funk, we decided we needed to get her out of the house but we also needed to keep her nice and quiet. So off we headed to the movie theater to see Puss in Boots. By far the best part of the movie was the rockin’ flamenco music and dance scenes.
Sitting in the movie theater, watching Puss in Boots dance his way into the heart of Kitty Softpaws, I thought, “Hey I know this music! This is my rodrigo y garbriela CD.” These two guitar artists are phenomenal!
After Miss Enigma fully recovered from her concussion, I surprised the kiddos and played my CD for them. They immediately recognized the music from the Puss in Boots movie. Both of them started dancing, stomping their feet like flamenco dancers. That’s saying a lot because MacGyver usually does NOT dance.
Currently, this is Miss Enigma’s FAVORITE CD. She listens to it several times a day. She plays it for everyone and encourages them to dance along. She’s even taught our dog Shadow how to dance to the rockin’ flamenco. Shadow is such a good sport!
Go ahead and take a listen . . . I really like the way this CD explodes right out of the starting blocks . . .
The two songs featured in Puss in Boots are from rodrigo y gabriela 11:11 CD. The two songs are “Hanuman“ and “Santo Doningo“. It is amazing what two artists can do with two guitars. 11:11 is comprised of 11 acoustic guitar tracks, with the artists drumming their guitars as they play. The CD is purely instrumental and it’s wonderful.
The CD I own, also includes a DVD allowing the children to see how the artists create their dazzling guitar music. I like exposing the children to many art forms and different music genres. This CD has helped broaden their music appreciation. Before 11:11, Miss Enigma’s favorite CD was Rock Elvis. Yep, it’s a little eclectic around here, or just strange. Eclectic sounds better doesn’t it?!
