Post image for Tutti Frutti Breakfast Smoothie: FREE Printable Recipe Guide for Children

These healthy yogurt fruit smoothies are named in honor of Miss Enigma. Her favorite breakfast day is Smoothie Day. Miss Enigma is a terrifically picky eater. However, on Smoothie Day she cheers, “Yay, smoothies!” In addition to loving fruit smoothies, Miss Enigma is totally in love with Elvis. YES, Elvis! And by far her favorite is Elvis singing Tutti Frutti, All Rooty! (Personally, my favorite version is Val Kilmer rocking Tutti Frutti in the movie Top Secret. But I’m getting us off track.)

So without further ado, let’s get busy blending up some Tutti Frutti Breakfast Smoothies . . . A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop-a-lop-bam-boom! Look for the FREE printable recipe guide at the end of this post.

Tutti Frutti Breakfast Smoothies (serves 2)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup fruit
  • ½ cup juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ tsp. of cinnamon
  • *1 scoop protein powder

*I only use plain yogurt. I do not like the extra sugar in flavored yogurts.

Tools

  • blender
  • measuring cup / spoons
  • cutting board
  • knife

Step 1: Carefully cut stems off strawberries.

Step 2: Add all ingredients to the blender.

Step 3: Blend ingredients on high until smooth.

Step 4:  Share with a friend (or a brother or a Mommy) and enjoy!

Note to the grown-ups in the room:

*I only use plain yogurt. I do not like the extra sugar in flavored yogurts.

*A cup of frozen or fresh fruit can be added.

*My kiddos are not big meat eaters, especially little Miss Enigma.  (That’s one of the reasons she’s so darn little!) We add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder to our smoothie and mix it in with the fruit. It blends right in and adds a little protein to the kiddos’ breakfast.

I’m on a mission to make my children self-sufficient . . .

I grew-up with a mother who was a health-nut, long before eating healthy was the in-thing to do. She made me eat some seriously un-tasty foods like dry, thick, dense buckwheat pancakes. My mouth is pastey just thinking about them. Way on the other end of the spectrum, she made these healthy, cottage cheese pancakes [...]
