Book of the Week: This is the Sea That Feeds Us

Why we love this book:

This book connects children to nature and the ocean through it’s lyrical rhyming text and beautiful paintings. It illustrates for children the ocean food chain and how it all begins from the sun. It also brings the ocean to life, showing how we are all connected to the sea that feeds us. This book is an excellent read aloud for preschool and a must have for any elementary classroom / homeschool studying the ocean or food chain. Come back tomorrow, we are sharing ideas and student work. We will also post a FREE printable sea creature book this week. Summer is almost here! Time for the beach.

This Is the Sea That Feeds Us

We also love Dawn Publications. Their mission, ” . . . is dedicated to inspiring in children a deeper understanding and appreciation for all life on Earth.” They have an abundance of children’s literature that connects children and nature.

We’re giving away one copy of This is the Sea that Feeds Us by Robert F. Baldwin.

I use the A B C’s of the sea in my class. Nice colorful pictures and an animal of the sea for each letter.
