The Prettiest Thing

What is the Prettiest Thing That You Ever Did See?

My first thought goes to the times I’ve been blessed watching a Texas sunset in Big Bend National Park.

Or it could be watching three of my grandsons exploring nature and working together to build an elaborate sandcastle during our trip to the beach.

But then again, it could be watching all of the grandsons, nieces and nephews hunting for  little creatures at “Aunt Joyce’s river“.

Most recently, it has been watching a wren family using a hanging basket to build a nest right outside our living room window.

Mama wren sitting patiently in the snug nest . . .

To keep one little egg warm.

Papa wren loyally feeding Mama wren.

Then one day, I noticed Papa and Mama wren coming and going like crazy. There he or she was, the prize, baby wren!

So we invite you to get outside this summer with the children and discover your own “Prettiest Thing That You Ever Did See.” You might even discover it right outside your own window!

Life with Joyce

In our “at school” section  we are giving away Tweedle Dee Dee by Charlotte Voake. We also have a FREE printable of the song: “The Green Grass Grew All Around,” about the prettiest tree that you ever did see . . . Come sing with us . . .

The prettiest thing i saw this summer so far was a pair of hummingbirds dashing through the mister, trying to stay cool or for a quick drink on the go… it was cute to see them dashing in and out as if they were playing with the drops of water…
