Putting Together Five Little Pumpkins Book:
- I first taught Miss Enigma the poem with the hand motions.
- Next, I introduced her to the book page by page.
- Miss Enigma glued the corresponding number of pumpkins on each page.
- To help Miss Enigma learn her numbers, she added one pumpkin to each page rather than gluing five pumpkins on every page.
- She drew swirly wind on the page “Then whooooo went the wind!”
- She painted with black watercolor on the page “And out went the light!”
- We didn’t glue any pumpkins on the last page because they ran out of sight!
Print these Poem Cards FREE: Five Little Pumpkins poem cards
- I printed these cards and the children used them to preform their puppet show.
- These cards can also be used as a sequencing game.
Puppet Show
- In my next post, I’ll show you how we put together our puppet show using the above poem cards.
- We did a following directions lesson that engaged the children in developing their fine-motor skills.
- Following verbal directions is certainly a skill of its own!
